Wildlife Ecologist

While favouring a habitat-based approach to conservation, Kenneth has mainly focused on the use of charismatic or keystone mammal species as indicator and umbrella species for successful conservation. Examples of this are a survey of the distribution of the endangered wild dog in Zambia, diet and habitat selection of the critically endangered black rhino in three arid and two humid parks in South Africa, conservation and reintroduction work on the vulnerable cheetah in the Southern African metapopulation, monitoring of the vulnerable black-footed cat in short grassland and a reintroduction plan for the ecosystem-engineering Eurasian beaver in Denmark.
